Sushi Saturday Hits Bloxham!

On Saturday we launch a new range of fresh Sushi supplied by Adrienne Baba. Adrienne is passionate about Japanese food and pots. She trained as a potter in Japan and now runs a successful studio in Bloxham, North Oxfordshire making contemporary Japanese-style tableware which is thrown or slab-built.

Her interest and experience in cooking Japanese food has led to her establishing popular Japanese cookery classes and providing Japanese food for dinner parties all served on her own tableware of course.

We are really excited about the new range of Fish and Vegetable Sushi which is sold in two sizes. Perfect for a Saturday night supper or a really tasty (and healthy) lunch. Pop in for a taster - see you Saturday!

Hi all - Happy New Year and best wishes for 2010!

Well the snow has proved to make for a picturesque and slightly disrupted start to the NewYear. We have only had to close for a day and a half as Donna abandoned Ship to make sure she got home. Bloxham was hit hard by the snow.

We are busy making plans for the New Year. Our new chiller will provide the opportunity for new Fresh ranges. We are also keen to get some hot options on the menu - Soups, Paninis etc (thank you to Gina at Caffe Chai, Warwick, for the tips!)

Our major push is for springtime and opening the barn for the better weather to build on the gifts and homeware sides. In fact we are off to London on Sunday for 'Top Drawer' 2010 for inspiration and suppliers. The success of the gift loft at Christmas has left us with a Dilema - should we keep it as is or make into a holiday let. Decisions, decisions!

Deli's are not just for life, they're for Christmas too!

Blimey, just got in from a corking day at Bread & Milk. The festive feel really is kicking in this weekend. People are certainly in the mood for foodie reminders of the big day. Barnia was very popular and it was fab to see people are getting into the spirit. Some cheesy Christmas tunes did help though! "Im dreamin........."

Chicken Run!

Cracking day at Bread & Milk as word seems to be getting around about 'Barnia' and the Gift Loft.

Christmas is definitely in the air as we have made so many Oak Smoked Turkey and Cranberry Sandwiches today.

We also became overrun by a gaggle of Chicken Door Stops who seem to have made camp on the chair upstairs!

Not sure what breed they are but they look like Lucy Tom

Apparently they will only leave if they are promised to be re-housed in a comfy home with a nice owner and a big fire. Can any one help?

Christmas arrives in Bloxham!

Friday 13th November

After a really hectic 'box opening' week, we launched our 2009 Christmas Barn and Gift Loft at Bread & Milk Bloxham. Building on the success of previous festive forays this year we extended further into personal and household gifts. Donna has spent weeks/months seeking out special niche suppliers of gorgeous foods and amazing gifts to add something really special to your table or a loved one.

Donna has already 'bonded' with a pretty cute Penguin door stop from Lucy Tom citing that she is now a new member of staff in a bid to avoid selling her! (hmm)
